View of the river fabulous- food is all fried. Decided on a piece of cake and coffee as a snack because I could not find anything else on the menu that was not fried.

First trip to this restaurant after hearing about it many times. The staff was very friendly. Great view. Spouse and I both had catfish filets and both of us came to the same conclusion- not enough flavor in the fish ( salt and pepper?) and the hushpuppies were dry and flavorless as well. We were both disappointed.

This place USED to be a great spot. You could get good southern cooking for a great price. Now it is ridiculously overpriced and you get nothing. 2 tiny pieces of catfish and 2 sides for $11.00. Any run of the mill meat and three around Nashville beats this place. Avoid throwing your money away here.

Beautiful place we went and had lunch and ate on the deck it was a beautiful day I had the seafood platter I highly recommend it we were group of four adults and everybody else had the catfish platter. The food was excellent the fish was on the little bit of the small side we will definitely go back we enjoyed it very much service was very slow though we had to wait like 35 minutes just to get our food.

It's worth the drive to get out of the bustle of Nashville to a lovely view of the river. The food is family friendly, burgers, catfish, even a steak. I had the catfish and two sides, all good. The service was wonderful. The final tab was light.

Made a trip out here while on a ride with a friend. The place is nice, clean, and the deck has a great view of the river. As for a dining experience? It is good not great. Pretty much anything in the way of sea food you order seems to touch the fryer which is ok just not a lot of great healthy options. I split a sea food platter, and clam strips with a side of sweet potato fries and okra. The platter included shrimp, clam, catfish, hushpuppies, crab cakes, and something else that tasted like bite sized pieces of scallops (I was to hungry to ask at the time). Literally everything I had ordered except my trip to the salad bar had been in the fryer. While not exactly heart healthy and a lot of cooking variety. They also have some locally made ice cream that I would highly recommend.

I really wanted to like it more than I did. The view is nice, and the staff was friendly, but in the end it was just very average. With easily some of the most obliterated coleslaw I've ever seen in my life. It looked like someone just made it in a blender on Purée. I wouldn't discourage you from coming here if you are in the area, but I would discourage you from driving a long way for it. It's not bad, it's just not any better than Red Lobster.

Horrible, I'm so disappointed how this place has changed. Our server Maddie. Was the worst server I have ever had anywhere. We've been going here for years. The last few times it has been disappointing due to the changes in food but we went back tonight and now we will never go back!

This place was great. Service was def. spot on, a nice little old lady made sure my glass was full the entire time I was there and it only took about 10 mins to get our orders on the table. As for the food, it was pretty delicious. Fish is their speciality, and can be cooked to ordered fried or boiled. I personally got it fried, with white beans(delicious) and a baked sweet potatoe that came with some top notch cinnamon butter. If your in the mood for fish, give this place a try!

Nice place on the Cumberland River. I ordered the ribeye steak which was cooked and seasoned perfectly. I would try the catfish which others in my group ordered. Everyone was happy with their food and the server, Kayla, was very sweet. She took great care of us.

Salad bar is very nice and clean. Had the catfish and it was cooked well. This is a very nice place for casual food. I have been several times and everytime I had a nice meal/ Once of the best things here is the proximity to the river and the views. Go and enjoy.

I ordered the fish tacos here which can best be described as so-so. They were messy served on a small flour tortilla shell with cole slaw which made the tacos messy. The fish as well was not crispy due to the wetness of the slaw. The only bright spot was our server who was spot on.

Visited Friday evening March 1, 2013 for my wife's birthday dinner. it was okay but not great. The atmosphere was nice and the service was actually good. The restaurant was fairly busy. A few snow flurries were falling which I coined an oxymoron because the River-view restaurant migrates to their summer hours on this day each year. Although the restaurant offers an all you care to eat option for the catfish; otherwise the portions were small for the price. The bobbers and the hush puppies appetizers tasted good. The salad bar looked good and well stocked. It was very obvious the chicken tenders and other seafood components came from the fast food supplier. I would give it a second chance and hope for some improvements; either larger portions or lower prices. They would do well to make their own chicken strips/tenders. Homemade taste so much better and its usually less expensive. Although my personal thoughts are catfish has to be fried. The River view offers a bake and broiled option too.

This place could be a candidate for Chef Ramsey's "Kitchen Nightmares" series. I understand that this place was destroyed by the 2010 Cumberland River flood, and that it was recently rebuilt. It looks great, and is in a great location, right on the river, although a bit off the beaten path. The place was practically empty at a time when it should have been really busy. That should have been our first clue that all was not well. The food was practically inedible, and our server, while she didn't say it, seemed to be embarrassed to serve it. What the owners of so many restaurants fail to understand is that we go to restaurants first for the FOOD, not the decor or the view. If you don't get the food part right, everything else was a waste of money. For a fraction of the price of the decor you can hire a good, solid executive chef who can turn out some amazing food that will bring customers back again and again. Great food turns into happy customers, and happy customers turn into profits.
